Affirmation cards have become popular over the years, with people using them for personal growth. They look simple, but who could tell if a card could change your life?
In this article, I will share about affirmation cards and how you can use them to the fullest.
Affirmation cards are simple cards with positive affirmations written on them. Most of the typical cards are small pieces of paper with a specific type of affirmation.
For instance, if someone faces low self-esteem, they should read through affirmations for self-acceptance and self-love. The same goes for any other goals with these cards!
The concept behind affirmation cards is reinforcing positive thoughts and beliefs. In simple words, positive statements help you take out the trash of negative thoughts and create space for positive beliefs.
Thus, creating a positive reality in your mind.
Affirmation cards are effective only when you repeatedly say the statements.
One research showed that repeating self-affirmations leads to physical changes in the brain, impacting positive changes in the way people look at themselves. Additionally, repetitively reciting positive affirmations boosts self-esteem.
Furthermore, positive statements often tap into the power of visualization. Individuals can create vivid images of their desired reality and ultimately, manifest it.
In conclusion, we can say that affirmations are more than just mere statements.
There are 3 types of affirmation cards, depending on one’s end-goal with the affirmations. As of here, we are taking 3 goals:
Self-love cards focus on cultivating a sense of self-acceptance, self-worth, and self-compassion. These are useful for those who struggle with low self-esteem and people-pleasing.
In these cards, you can find affirmations like “I deserve love” and “I am enough”, serving as a reminder to you.
These cards can help one to deal with anxiety and manage stress levels. So, when someone feels overwhelmed with stress and anxiety, these positive statements comfort them.
They usually have affirmations that promote relaxation, calmness and inner peace. Some examples include “I am calm and centered” and “I release all the stress from my mind and body”.
‘Success cards’ aim to inspire and motivate people to take action and achieve their goals. They may have affirmations related to determination and a success mindset.
Some affirmations represent this success mindset the most are “I am capable of achieving my goals” and “If one door closes, I will find another way to get it done”.
Of course, there’s a lot of ways to practice affirmations: simply reading them or saying them to yourself in the mirror. But, there’s one right way to do it — which makes those positive statements come to life.
Here are three practices you should follow to make affirmations work effectively:
A lot of affirmation cards out there are generic, and may not really resonate with your personal goals. So, when picking up new cards, choose the ones that genuinely move something within you.
Consider themes that your present self needs: self-love, abundance, or assurance. The more aligned you stay with the affirmations, the better changes you’ll see.
I’d say this again: Affirmations are meant to be repeated for them to be effective. Add them to your morning routine, or before bed — whenever you get time.
So, each time you practice them, you’d reinforce a positive mindset and nurture a belief about positive changes in your mind.
The key is to engage with the affirmations on a deeper level to reinforce positive beliefs. And, the best way to do this is by visualizing them with a vision board.
Create a vision board with your affirmations and your desired reality. Look at who you want to be as you speak. Make it as personal as possible — it’s yours after all.
Lastly, I want to remind you that affirmations work only when you believe them wholeheartedly. The whole point of saying them is to believe them.
At first, you might struggle to believe what you’re saying. To deal with it, take a deep breath in front of the mirror, look into your eyes, and then say what you ‘want’ to believe.
