Inspired by Taylor Swift’s “How Did It End?”, this poem shares the emotions of a woman who had her own world with her lover.
Her fantasies of marrying who she thought was ‘the 1’ for her were destroyed. So, the fictional narrator shares how the bride-to-be lost all she had.
She was dancing with him,
Like the beautiful ballets.
Floating in the air,
Her arms swirled around,
‘Til he left.
I was there, they were too.
None of us knew…
How the wedding flowers turned gray,
The white veil flew away,
And we had nothing to say.
Her sky was pitch black,
A storm of tears was coming.
It seemed like a funeral more,
As she was running.
I was there, they were too.
All of us knew…
The pain was quietly screaming,
Her soul was leaving,
She had nothing.
At the end,
She lost all she knew.
For a moment,
I wasn’t a part of this crew.
This poem is solely written by me, Jigyasa.
