I am not a bookworm who would start another book right after finishing one. But yeah..I have recently picked on a new habit of reading.
I don’t like non-fiction, but who doesn’t like a good book? Last week, I started one such book called ‘You Can Heal Your Life’ by Louise Hay. My first impression is, WOW!
That’s when I decided to start a Reading Journal. So I went to Amazon in an instant and ordered a cute set of journals.
What Is a Reading Journal?
A reading journal is a notebook or small diary where you can write your favorite quotes, lessons, or lines from books that you read. In a reading journal, you can:
Write about your favorite books
Create monthly reading goals
Review the books and write your opinions on them
Add your favorite quotes and lessons
Basically, it’s all about reading and writing.
Why Did I Create a Reading Journal?
I have started reading in the self-help niche. So, my goal with the journal is to keep a record of all the lessons, techniques, and quotes that I learn from the books.
Not only I can repurpose what I learn, but also, it will help me maintain a habit of reading.
How Can You Create One?
Creating a reading journal is a piece of cake. In fact, if you want to build a reading habit, then I will definitely suggest creating one.
Here’s how you can create it:
Get a small-sized notebook or diary that is almost the size of your palm.
If it’s unruled, great! However, you could also use ruled journals.
Start writing as per your goal with the journal.
For instance, my goal with the journal is to learn. So I make notes. You can also create a book review.
I am new to reading as of now, and absolutely ready to explore. But yeah, it’s not about how much my reading journals get filled. Instead, it’s about how much I learn new things.
